Mist Lords in Mistfall Hunter

Brandrgarde Main Hall lords Otto and Harald, Einherjar Mode live August 6, and extract risk after optional clears.

Mist Lord Guide — Mistfall Hunter

Mist Lords are Mistfall Hunter’s high-tier optional PvE bosses — separate from the mandatory Returner Woodling that drops the Soul of Return. On Brandrgarde, two named lords share the Main Hall arena: Otto the Flesheater and Harald the Fallen General. This hub explains shared rules, when to engage, how Einherjar Mode amplifies clears after the August 6 client, and when to skip.

Pair with Brandrgarde, Einherjar Mode, and How to Extract. Watch Otto’s official boss reveal mid-page for Main Hall animation language; Harald has a dedicated reveal on his guide.

Both lords unlock around the ~20 minute Soekja warning cue. Confirm which lord spawned before burning ultimates — wrong engage means a full requeue. Entering and starting the fight reseals the barrier; after the kill you get roughly ~45 seconds to loot and take the exit portal before waiting third parties flood in. The portal dumps you into the final Gyldenmist corruption zone, so hold a Soul of Return before you commit.

Other high-tier PvE such as Cursed Moonwane (Salmar) lives outside this Main Hall pair — treat each boss page as authoritative for that fight.

Always secure your Soul of Return before chasing Mist Lords unless the squad explicitly accepts wiping both the optional fight and the extract window.

Preparation checklist

Gear and Gyldenblod investment

Bring stances you have tested in Builds. Mid-tier banked gear from Gyldenblod & Items beats losing unbanked best-in-slot pieces. Optional bosses attract third-party Gyldhunters listening for combat audio.

Consumables and sustain

Stock healing and defensive utilities. Seer kits stabilize Otto’s long burns; Mercenary block/parry shines on Harald.

Squad roles

  • Frontline — Mercenary, Withered Knight
  • Ranged DPS — Blackarrow, Sorcerer (respect Aug 6 Blackarrow impact nerf)
  • Support — Seer
  • Flank — Shadowstrix when third-party pressure is high

Voice comms beat pinging alone. Framing: Squad Comps and Multiplayer.

Time and extract buffer

Finish Woodling first, then ask: If we wipe here, do we still have time and health to portal? If not, skip. Use the Extraction Checklist.

Engagement principles

  1. Identify the lord — Otto vs Harald before cooldowns.
  2. Clear adds near the hall before burning boss burst.
  3. Hold mobility for the post-kill corruption-zone dash.
  4. Abandon when half health, low ammo, or rivals path toward Main Hall audio.

Half a clear with a banked extract beats a heroic wipe. Gyldenblod in the warehouse is permanent.

PvP and third-party risk

Main Hall is a beacon. Mitigations:

  • Watch East / South / West entrances while DPS focuses the lord.
  • Loot and portal inside the ~45-second greed window.
  • Avoid first Mist Lord attempts on solo runs until patterns stabilize — Solo Mode on Brandrgarde arrives September 2026 per Solo Mode.

Loot and Einherjar Mode

Mist Lord clears can feed high-tier Gyldenblod rolls, crafting components, and Holy Weapon progression — exact rates are not fully published. Einherjar Mode (August 6 client) uses a Dried Flower Knot at the Mist Lord altar for harder clears and higher Holy Weapon / Holy Forging Material odds per Second Wave Steam language — see Holy Weapons and Dried Flower Knot. Do not Knot your first Otto or Harald clear.

Full activation: Einherjar Mode. Changelog: August 6 Update.

When to skip Mist Lords

Skip if you lack a Soul of Return, the match timer is mid, the squad is unpracticed, you carry unbanked irreplaceable gear, or rivals were spotted pathing to Main Hall.

Treat Mist Lords as optional exams wrapped in an extraction timer — identify the spawn, clear clean, loot fast, and portal before Main Hall becomes a free-for-all.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers hunters ask before every run.

What is a Mist Lord in Mistfall Hunter?

A high-tier optional PvE boss. On Brandrgarde, Otto the Flesheater and Harald the Fallen General share Main Hall.

Do I need to kill a Mist Lord to extract?

No. Extraction ties to the Returner Woodling and Soul of Return. Mist Lords are optional with higher risk.

Do Otto and Harald share the same arena?

Yes. Both use Brandrgarde Main Hall. Confirm which Mist Lord spawned before committing; the wrong fight requires a new match.

When should a squad attempt a Mist Lord?

After securing the Soul of Return, with extract time to spare, assigned roles, and awareness that third parties may flood in after the barrier opens.

Are Mist Lord fights worth the inventory risk?

Einherjar Mode teases better Holy Weapon odds. Standard clears still cost time and attract PvP — bank extracts first.

When does Einherjar Mode open for Mist Lords?

Officially open as of the August 6, 2026 client update, with increased Dried Flower Knot drops. See the Einherjar Mode guide.
